The Azawakh is a tall, elegant sighthound breed from West Africa, known for its speed and hunting prowess and independence. These dogs are loyal to family but need early socialization and plenty of exercise due to their hunting instincts and high energy levels.
Origin and Purpose
Developed in the Sahel region of West Africa by nomadic tribes such as the Tuareg, for hunting gazelle and as a guardian of livestock and the family.
